GE Electric Bake Element (WB44T10055)

The GE Electric Bake Element is the lower heating element in your electric range that provides the heat needed for baking and broiling from below. It connects to the oven's electrical supply and glows red-hot when powered, radiating heat evenly throughout the oven cavity to cook food at the set temperature.

A GE electric bake element can fail from age, repeated heating and cooling cycles, grease buildup, or physical damage such as cracks or burns on the element surface. When the element shorts out or breaks, it can no longer complete the electrical circuit, leaving your oven unable to reach or hold the correct baking temperature.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the bake element needs to be replaced:

- Oven does not heat up when set to bake

- Element has visible cracks, blisters, or burned spots on its surface

- Oven takes much longer than normal to preheat

- Food is undercooked or bakes unevenly

- Element glows only in certain spots or not at all

- Sparking or popping sounds coming from the bottom of the oven
