GE Electric Range Bake Element (WB44X10016)

The GE Electric Range Bake Element is the lower heating component inside your oven that generates the heat needed for baking and roasting. It works by drawing electrical current through a looped metal heating rod, converting that electricity into radiant heat that warms the oven cavity to the temperature you set. This element sits at the bottom of the oven and is the primary heat source during bake cycles.

The GE Electric Range Bake Element can fail over time from normal heat cycling, which causes the metal to expand and contract until cracks or breaks develop. Power surges, food spills that burn onto the element surface, or simply years of regular use can weaken the element until it no longer heats properly or stops working altogether.
