The GE Dishwasher User Interface Board controls the dishwasher’s front-panel functions. It reads button presses, drives indicator lights, and sends commands to the main control so you can select cycles, options, and start or cancel a wash.

Common causes of failure include moisture intrusion into the console, corrosion on connectors, damaged key circuits from repeated use, or electrical stress from power surges. A loose or oxidized harness connection can also make the board act intermittently.

Symptoms that may point to a failed user interface board include:

• Buttons do not respond, respond only sometimes, or require extra pressure
• No indicator lights, dim lights, or lights that flicker or behave erratically
• Cycle selection will not change, changes on its own, or will not confirm
• Dishwasher will not start even though power is present
• Unit starts but stops when the panel is touched or when the door is closed
• Random beeping, error tones, or a panel that appears “frozen”
