The lower rack is the main dish-holding basket that sits on the bottom level of your dishwasher and rolls in and out on wheel assemblies along the lower tracks. It holds plates, pots, pans, and larger items in position during the wash cycle so water and detergent can reach all surfaces effectively.

Lower racks wear out over time from repeated loading and unloading, exposure to heat and moisture, and contact with heavy cookware.
