The GE Dryer Timer Knob is the control knob that lets you set the drying cycle time on your electric dryer. It attaches to the timer shaft on the control panel and turns to select the desired drying duration, sending that input to the timer mechanism that governs the cycle.
The GE dryer timer knob can crack, break, or strip over time from repeated use, accidental force, or normal wear on the plastic. When the knob's interior grip wears down or the knob itself becomes damaged, it can no longer grip the timer shaft securely enough to turn it properly.
These symptoms can help you decide if a faulty timer knob is causing your dryer issue:
- Knob spins freely on the shaft without turning the timer
- Knob is visibly cracked, chipped, or broken
- Dryer does not start because the timer cannot be set
- Knob feels loose or wobbles when you try to turn it
- Knob has snapped off the timer shaft completely
- Difficulty turning the knob to select a drying cycle

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
