The GE Dryer Trap Duct channels lint-laden air from the drum through the lint trap housing and toward the exhaust vent during the drying cycle. It acts as the connecting passage that directs airflow so the lint filter can capture debris before warm air exits the dryer.

The GE Dryer Trap Duct can deteriorate over time from heat exposure, lint buildup, or physical damage that causes cracks or separation at the connection points. A broken or clogged duct restricts airflow through the lint trap area, forcing the dryer to work harder and reducing its ability to dry clothes efficiently.
