GE Electric Dryer Heater (WE11X103)

The GE Electric Dryer Heater is the heating element assembly that generates the heat needed to dry your clothes during each cycle. It works by converting electrical energy into heat as current passes through a coiled resistance wire, warming the air that flows through the drum to remove moisture from fabrics.

The GE Electric Dryer Heater can fail over time due to normal wear, power surges, restricted airflow from a clogged lint trap or vent, or simply from years of repeated heating and cooling cycles. When the coil inside the assembly breaks or burns out, the dryer loses its ability to produce heat and clothes will not dry properly.

Look for these symptoms to determine if the heater assembly may need to be replaced:

- Dryer runs but produces no heat at all

- Clothes come out damp or wet after a full cycle

- Dryer takes multiple cycles to dry a normal load

- Dryer shuts off early due to overheating caused by uneven heat distribution

- Burning smell coming from the dryer during operation

- Dryer drum spins normally but air inside remains cold

- Visible breaks, scorch marks, or damage on the heating coil
