The GE Dryer Baffle is a fin-shaped plastic piece mounted inside the dryer drum that tumbles clothes as the drum rotates during a drying cycle. It lifts and drops laundry repeatedly to expose all surfaces to warm air, promoting even and efficient drying throughout the load.
GE dryer baffles commonly fail from prolonged heat exposure, impact from heavy items, or simple wear over years of use. A cracked, broken, or missing baffle can no longer lift clothes properly, leaving laundry bunched at the bottom of the drum and extending drying times significantly.
These symptoms may indicate your dryer baffle needs to be replaced:
- Clothes come out damp or unevenly dried after a full cycle
- Laundry clumps together and does not tumble freely in the drum
- Loud thumping or banging noise as the drum spins
- Visible crack, break, or missing section on the inside of the drum wall
- Sharp or rough edge inside the drum that snags fabric
- Drying cycles take longer than usual with no change in load size

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
