The GE Dryer Fuse is a safety component that protects the dryer's electrical circuit by breaking the circuit if the current exceeds a safe level. It is a one-time-use device that burns out intentionally to prevent damage to other components or a potential fire hazard in your electric dryer.
A GE dryer fuse typically blows due to a power surge, a short circuit in the dryer's wiring, or an underlying issue like a failing heating element or blocked exhaust vent causing the dryer to overheat. Once blown, the fuse cannot be reset and must be replaced to restore normal operation.
Look for these symptoms to help determine if the fuse is the cause of your dryer problem:
- Dryer will not start or turns on but produces no heat
- Dryer stops mid-cycle and will not restart
- No response when the start button is pressed despite the door being closed
- Control panel appears normal but the drum does not spin or heat
- Dryer runs but clothes remain wet after a full cycle
- Visible burn marks or a melted appearance on the fuse itself

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
