GE Washer Speed Sensor (WH03X32158)

The GE Washer Speed Sensor monitors how fast the wash basket and motor are turning. It sends speed feedback to the washer’s control so the machine can ramp the motor up and down, balance the load, and control spin speed during drain and spin cycles.

This sensor can fail from normal wear, vibration, moisture intrusion, or damage to the wiring or connector. A cracked housing, loose mounting, or a buildup of residue near the sensing area can also cause an incorrect speed signal. When the control cannot trust the speed feedback, it may stop the cycle to prevent overspeed or out-of-balance conditions.
