GE Washer Pressure Switch (WH12X20898)

The GE Washer Pressure Switch monitors the water level inside the drum during the fill cycle and signals the control board to stop filling once the correct level is reached. It works by sensing air pressure changes through a small hose connected to the tub, translating that pressure into an electrical signal that tells the washer when to move on to the next cycle step.

A GE washer pressure switch can fail due to a clogged or kinked pressure hose, debris blocking the sensor port, or internal wear on the switch contacts over time. When the switch stops reading water levels accurately, the washer may overfill, underfill, or become confused about where it is in the wash cycle.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the pressure switch is the source of your washer problem:
