GE Washer Water Valve (WH13X10023)

The GE Washer Water Valve controls the flow of hot and cold water into the washing machine during the fill cycle. It opens and closes in response to electrical signals from the washer's control board, allowing the correct amount of water to enter the tub for each wash setting.

GE washer water valves can fail when the internal solenoids wear out, mineral deposits clog the inlet screens, or the valve body cracks from age or water pressure stress. A faulty valve may stick open, stick closed, or allow only a trickle of water through, disrupting the washer's ability to fill properly.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the water valve is the source of your washer problem:

- Washer does not fill with water or fills very slowly

- Only hot or only cold water enters the tub regardless of temperature setting

- Washer overfills or water continues to enter when the machine is off

- Loud humming or buzzing sound when the washer attempts to fill

- Water leaking from the back of the washer near the inlet connections

- Washer stops mid-cycle due to an incomplete fill
