GE Washer Motor (WH20X23194)

The GE Washer Motor powers the drum and drive system that agitates and spins your laundry through each cycle. It converts electrical energy into the mechanical motion needed to rotate the tub, circulate water through the load, and complete the spin cycle to remove excess moisture.

A GE washer motor can fail due to worn brushes, overheating from repeated overloaded cycles, bearing wear, or electrical faults within the motor windings. Age and prolonged use can also cause the motor to draw too much current or lose the torque needed to move the drum reliably through wash and spin.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the motor is the source of your washer trouble:

- Washer drum does not spin or agitate at all

- Motor hums or buzzes but the tub fails to move

- Burning smell or smoke coming from the washer during operation

- Washer stops mid-cycle and will not restart without resetting

- Drum spins weakly or much slower than normal
