The GE Washer Drain Pump removes water from the tub by pulling it out through the drain hose at the end of a wash or rinse cycle. It is driven by a small motor that spins an impeller, creating the suction needed to clear water before the spin cycle begins.

A GE washer drain pump can fail due to worn internal components, a seized or broken impeller, debris buildup from lint, coins, or small items that pass through the tub, or a burned-out pump motor.
