The GE Washer Motor and Pulley powers the drum and drive system in your washer/dryer combo, converting electrical energy into the mechanical rotation needed to spin and agitate your laundry. The motor drives the pulley, which transfers that rotational force through the belt to move the drum through each cycle, from wash through spin and dry.

A GE washer motor and pulley can wear out from prolonged use, heat buildup, worn bearings, or a slipping and fraying belt that puts extra strain on the motor over time. Electrical faults, overloading the drum, or running the machine with a failing belt can also accelerate motor and pulley wear, eventually leaving the drum unable to move.
