Whirlpool Oven Light (WP4448972)

The Whirlpool Oven Light is the interior bulb that illuminates the oven cavity so you can monitor your food without opening the door. It is activated by the door switch or a dedicated light switch on the control panel and stays on whenever the oven interior needs to be visible during cooking or preheating.

The Whirlpool Oven Light commonly fails due to normal bulb burnout from repeated heat cycling, vibration from the oven door closing over time, or voltage fluctuations that shorten bulb life. In some cases the bulb may also fail prematurely if it has been touched with bare hands during installation, leaving oils that cause uneven heating on the glass surface.
