The Whirlpool Oven Door Seal can deteriorate over time from repeated exposure to high heat, grease, and the constant open-and-close cycle of normal oven use. The rubber or woven fiberglass material can harden, crack, tear, or pull away from the door frame, breaking the seal and allowing heat to escape during cooking.
