The Whirlpool Washer Belt transfers power from the drive system to the drum so the basket can agitate and spin at the correct speed. It keeps the drive motion steady, which helps the washer reach and hold normal wash and spin performance.
This belt can fail from normal wear, heat, repeated heavy loads, or misalignment in the drive path. Over time it may stretch, glaze, crack, fray, or slip on the pulleys. A seized pulley, worn bearings, or a binding tub can also stress the belt and cause early damage.
These symptoms can help you decide whether a washer belt is the source of the problem:
- Washer fills and drains but the tub does not agitate
- Washer fills and drains but the tub does not spin, or spins weakly
- Clothes come out wetter than normal after the spin cycle
- Burning rubber smell during wash or spin
- Squealing, chirping, or slipping noises as the motor runs
- Intermittent agitation or spinning that stops under load
- Visible cracking, fraying, glazing, or slackness on the belt

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
