The Whirlpool Dishwasher Valve controls water flow into the dishwasher during fill cycles. It opens when the control sends power and closes when the dishwasher has enough water or when the cycle ends. This helps the unit reach the correct water level for washing and rinsing without overfilling.

This valve can fail from mineral scale buildup, debris in the inlet screen, a sticking internal plunger, or an electrical fault in the solenoid coil. It may also leak at the valve body or fittings, or stop opening fully, which limits water entering the tub.
