The Whirlpool Dishwasher Seal fits along the dishwasher door opening to create a watertight barrier when the door is closed. It helps keep wash water and steam inside the tub during fill, wash, and drain cycles, and it also cushions the door as it closes.

Seal problems often start with normal wear, heat, and repeated compression from opening and closing the door. The seal can harden, flatten, crack, or tear. It can also shift out of its channel after cleaning or after the door is closed on dishes or racks. Detergent buildup and debris can keep the seal from sitting flat against the door.

If you notice any of these symptoms, this seal may be the part that addresses the issue:

Water leaking from the front of the dishwasher, especially near the bottom corners
