GE Freezer Ice Maker (WR30X28698)

The GE Freezer Ice Maker replaces the ice-making assembly responsible for producing and harvesting ice cubes inside your GE freezer. It uses a built-in thermostat and heating element to freeze water in the mold, then releases and drops the finished cubes into the ice bin below. The unit connects to the water inlet valve and controls the entire ice-making cycle from fill to harvest.

A GE Freezer Ice Maker can fail due to worn-out components in the harvest mechanism, a faulty internal thermostat, or damage from freezer temperature fluctuations over time. Mineral deposits from hard water can clog the fill cup or mold, and the motor module can burn out after years of repeated cycling, leaving the unit unable to complete a full ice-making cycle.
