GE Refrigerator Ice Maker (WR30X35286)

The GE Refrigerator Ice Maker is the self-contained unit inside your freezer that produces and harvests ice automatically. It works by filling a mold with water, freezing it, then using a heating element and ejector arm to release the ice cubes into the storage bin below.

The GE Refrigerator Ice Maker can fail from mineral buildup blocking the water inlet or mold, a worn-out motor module, or a faulty thermostat that prevents the harvest cycle from completing. Normal wear over time, water quality issues, or a freezer that runs too warm can all shorten the life of the ice maker and cause it to stop producing ice reliably.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the ice maker needs to be replaced:
