The GE Refrigerator Ice Maker is the self-contained unit inside your freezer that automatically freezes water into ice cubes and releases them into the storage bin. It connects to your home water supply, fills an ice mold at timed intervals, and uses a heating element and ejector arm to harvest and drop finished cubes into the bin below.
The GE Refrigerator Ice Maker can fail from a worn or stuck ejector arm, a cracked ice mold, a burned-out heating element, or a faulty thermostat that misreads freezer temperature. Mineral deposits from hard water, age, or a history of freezing over can also wear down internal components until the unit stops producing ice reliably.
These symptoms can help you decide if your ice maker is the source of your problem:
- Ice maker stops producing ice entirely
- Ice maker produces very small, misshapen, or hollow cubes
- Ice cubes clump together or freeze into a solid block in the bin

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
