The GE Refrigerator Condenser Fan draws air across the condenser coils located at the bottom or back of the refrigerator to release heat removed from the refrigerator compartment. It works alongside the compressor to keep the cooling system running at the right temperature by moving air continuously over the coils during compressor cycles.
The GE Refrigerator Condenser Fan can fail due to worn or seized bearings, a burned-out motor, debris and dust buildup blocking the fan blade, or damage from moisture over time. When the fan stops working properly, the refrigerator loses its ability to shed heat efficiently, which puts extra strain on the compressor and causes the entire cooling system to underperform.
Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the condenser fan is the source of your refrigerator problem:
- Refrigerator is not cooling properly or food is spoiling faster than usual
- Freezer section is warm or not maintaining temperature
- Compressor runs constantly without cycling off
- Unusual noise coming from the bottom or back of the refrigerator

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
